"The United States condemns the attack" on Kashin, U.S. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said in Washington on Monday, "and calls on Russian authorities to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice."

Second Russian reporter attacked
Anatoliy Adamchuk, from the Zhukovskiye Vesti suburban Moscow weekly, suffered concussion and head injuries, according to Ekho Moskvy news agency.

It comes after leading journalist Oleg Kashin was severely beaten outside his home on Saturday.
